Information Note On The Use Of Your Personal Data in Compliance With The Regulation (Eu) 2016/679 Of The European Parliament


According to EU Regulation n° 2016/679 (hereafter referred to as “GDPR”), bearing dispositions in on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, we inform you that your personal data are processed by the Institute of Applied Physics “Nello Carrara” of the National Research Council (hereafter indicated as CNR-IFAC) in observance of the above-mentioned regulation and of the obligations of secrecy to which you are bound.

Aims and compulsory elements of the processing

CNR-IFAC processes personal data for the aims provided by the GDPR, in particular for the implementation of its own institutional tasks and public interest, including the aims of transparency, communication, scientific divulgation, and filing.

Processing and preservation procedures

The personal data furnished and collected will be handled by CNR-IFAC in accordance with the principles lawfulness, fairness and transparency and minimisation of the data, according to Art. 5 of the GDPR. The data will be conserved for the time necessary for the achievement of the aims of the aims for which they have been collected and processed.

The personal data will be processed on the operative premises of CNR-IFAC using prevalently computer- related and telematics equipment, in obedience to what is provided for by Art. 32 of the GDPR as regards safety measures, with the help of expressly designated persons and in compliance with what is provided for by Art. 29 GDPR.

Ambit of communication and diffusion

The data collected will never be spread and will never be subject to communication without your explicit consent, except necessary communications which may involve the transfer of data to public authorities, advisers (legal counsels as well), collaborators or to any subject in order to fulfilment of the legal obligations.

Transfer of personal data

The personal data processed by CNR-IFAC may be transferred within member States of the European Union, but will not be transferred in Third-countries that do not belong to the European Union without an explicit communication to that effect.

The right to withdraw of the consent

The data subject shall have the right to withdraw his or her consent at any time

The withdrawal of consent shall not :

  • affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal
  • further cases of processing of the same data founded on other legal bases (for example, contractual obligations or legal obligations to which the Data Controller is subject).

Rights of the person concerned:

In any moment whatsoever, it is possible to request access to your Personal Data, the rectification or cancellation of the same, or to raise an objection to their processing, in conformity with Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, as specified below:

  • To require the confirmation on the existence or not of your personal data;
  • To obtain indications of the processing purposes, the personal data category, the recipients and the storage time;
  • To request your personal data correction or cancellation;
  • To get the processing restriction;
  • To obtain the portability of data: a data controller receives data in a structured and readable format from another data controller without impediments;
  • To object to the processing of your personal information at any time, and in case of direct marketing purposes as well;
  • To object to an automated decision making relating to natural individuals, profiling is included;
  • To require the personal data access, rectification, cancellation, restriction or objection, besides the right of portability;
  • To withdraw the consent at any time without prejudicing the lawfulness of the processing based on a prior consent;
  • To lodge a complaint with Data Controller.
