Biographical notes:

Born in Montecatini Terme, on 30 Dicembre 1956, residing in Firenze.
Degree in Physics
Researcher at the Institute of Applied Physics "Nello Carrara"of National Research Council

Responsible of the research on Microwaves and radiofrequency applied to material systems.

Past research activity:

1. Biomedical applications of electromagnetic fields, in particular in oncological hyperthermia and in diathermy.
2. Electric and electromagnetic measurements (EM compatibility, metrology); temperature measurements in the presence of intense EM fields.
3. Industrial applications of EM fields.
4. Dielectric characterization of materials (ceramics, polymers, liquids, organic fluids).
5. Heat diffusion in biological materials and in phantom materials simulating human tissues.
6. Electrical Impedance Tomography: genetic approach.
7. Solution of optimisation and minimisation problems by genetic algorithms.

Current activity:

Dielectric Spectroscopy: dielectric properties of solid materials (wood, vegetation, clay, ceramics)

Theory of complex dielectrics (mixtures, anisotropic dielectrics)

Measurement methods and instrumentation for dielectric spectroscopy

Power applications of microwaves
