Joining the Shards – Upskilling of museum operators for the valorization and narration of EU ceramic heritage impacted by war

European ceramics heritage affected by wars and conflicts is often not exhibited and/or poorly interpreted due to the lack of specialized museological, restoration, or narrative strategies. The project JOINING THE SHARDS aims  at raising the competences in museums and other cultural institutions to better valorize such important tangible and associated intangible heritage under two main areas:

a) restoration, conservation and preservation;

b) exhibition, narratives, and storytelling

The project will implement the following activities:

• • • Background and best practices review
    • Transnational exchanges and dedicated technical workshops
    • Pilot-testing of innovative conservation/restoration techniques
    • Dedicated transnational Workshop on storytelling techniques
    • Competence transfer through training/workshop initiatives
    • Citizen engagement activities
