The National Research Council of Pisa and Florence will be among the keynote speakers at Expo Osaka, where on Thursday, July 17th and Friday, July 18th, the Italian Pavilion will present “T-POWER: Life Sciences Made in Tuscany. Innovating for Saving, Empowering, and Connecting Lives.”
This project, created to showcase and share Tuscany’s excellence in the Life Sciences, involves besides Tuscan CNR Institutes the University of Florence (coordinator), the University of Pisa, the University of Siena, the University of Siena for Foreigners, the Scuola Normale Superiore, and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
The event, coordinated by the CNR and titled “Saving, Empowering, Connecting Lives,” will feature workshops, videos, and talks on cancer research, neuroscience, advanced radiotherapy, and precision medicine.
Special attention will be given to the Tuscany Health Ecosystem project, in which IFAC is deeply involved with activities focused on the development of optical devices for monitoring biomarkers and of nanostructures for drug therapy and theranostics. Since therapeutic drug monitoring and personalized medicine are a focus of the event, the results achieved by the NANODEM project, coordinated by IFAC, on the continuous measurement of immunosuppressants in transplant patients, will be presented, considering the remarkable results achieved even though the project was implemented before the pandemics.
A ten-minute remote presentation by Francesco Baldini will introduce the NANODEM video “Between Infection and Rejection” , which is also available at CNR-WEBtv at https://www.cnrweb.tv/nanodem-dopo-il-trapianto-per-un-monitoraggio-costante-dei-farmaci/
